OCT 21Dance Without Sight Workshop
Dance Without Sight Workshop asks sighted participants to shut out visual information and to open other senses such as touching, hearing, sense of smell, etc. which encourages a new experience of the body-being and mind in space. Non-sighted participants are encouraged to use their imagination and creativity to open the body-being and mind in new ways. Primarily using verbal guidance with sensitivity toward subtle energy perception, the individual imaginations are awakened. Attention is then directed to the timeless realm of body-being, to an internal capturing of a different time and space. Participants discover the possibility of another reality that is neither seeing nor un-seeing. Individual, partner, and group exercises promote a safe, well-supported and well-integrated environment for all to learn, grow, and expand through body sensation, movement, and perception. No previous butoh or dance experience necessary.
Open to all. 11:00am - 3:00pm
