Shirley Mordine, The Art of Performance: October 12
Mordine reveals the skills of performance inherent in and inseparable from the learning of dance technique, so that we come to understand how we speak through our bodies. -
OCT 19Friday Morning Classes with Mo&Co;
October 19 to October 20Victor Alexander: October 19
“This class builds on international modern and postmodern forms with an infusion of complex movements of the torso, arms, and hips. Focus is placed on movement clarity, articulation and being present in the moment.”
Benjamin Law: October 26 & November 2
The class will explore contemporary release technique within the larger context of functional human movement through application of Awareness Through Movement and principles of the Feldenkrais Method. Students will develop an intuitive understanding of how movement in general works and how to best organize the musculo-skeletal system to fine-tune their own skills and expand possibilities for movement and expression while reducing effort and anxiety. -
NOV 09Friday Morning Classes with Mo&Co;
November 9 to November 10Adriana Durant November 9 & 16
Durant’s modern class will focus on the use of weight and direction. Dancers will practice overlapping body initiations in order to use the body’s force and momentum in using the play of weight to rebound and redirect with spatial, energetic, and physical clarity. Improvisation is also imbedded in the class, even in set exercises. “Dancers are encouraged to play with the material in order to clarify focus; attention affects intention and vice versa.”

Burritt teaches a release based technique class that focuses on momentum-based movement. Athletic movement, breath, sound, inversions and, floor work collide to create an emotional, physical ride.
